代下32:1 在希西家行了这些忠诚的事以后，亚述王西拿基立进侵犹大，围困犹大的设防城，企图攻陷占领。
代下32:1 Now after these things and this true-hearted work, Sennacherib, king of Assyria, came into Judah, and put his army in position before the walled towns of Judah, designing to make his way into them by force.
代下32:2 希西家见西拿基立有意攻打耶路撒冷，
代下32:2 And when Hezekiah saw that Sennacherib had come for the purpose of fighting against Jerusalem,
代下32:3 就与众领袖和众勇士商议，要把城外各道水泉堵塞，他们都赞同。
代下32:3 He took up with his rulers and men of war the question of stopping up the water-springs outside the town; and they gave him their support.
代下32:4 于是有一大班人集合起来，堵塞了一切泉源和流通那地的溪流，他们说：“为什么要让亚述王得着充沛的水源呢？”
代下32:4 So they got together a great number of people, and had all the water-springs and the stream flowing through the land stopped up, saying, Why let the kings of Assyria come and have much water?
代下32:5 希西家发愤图强，重建所有拆毁了的城墙，墙上筑起瞭望楼，又建造一道外墙，并且巩固大卫城内的米罗，又制造了很多兵器和盾牌。
代下32:5 Then he took heart, building up the wall where it was broken down, and making its towers higher, and building another wall outside; and he made strong the Millo in the town of David, and got together a great store of all sorts of instruments of war.
代下32:6 他又委派军长统管众民，集合他们到城门的广场那里去见他；他鼓励他们说：
代下32:6 And he put war chiefs over the people, and sent for them all to come together to him in the wide place at the doorway into the town, and to give them heart he said to them,
代下32:7 “你们要坚强勇敢，不要因亚述王和他统领的大军惧怕惊慌；因为和我们同在的，比和他们同在的更多。
代下32:7 Be strong and take heart; have no fear, and do not be troubled on account of the king of Assyria and all the great army with him: for there is a greater with us.
代下32:8 和他们同在的，不过是人血肉的手臂；和我们同在的，却是耶和华我们的 神，他必帮助我们，为我们作战。”众民因犹大王希西家的话都得着鼓励了。
代下32:8 With him is an arm of flesh; but we have the Lord our God, helping us and fighting for us. And the people put their faith in what Hezekiah, king of Judah, said.
代下32:9 随后，亚述王西拿基立和他统领的全军攻打拉吉的时候，就差派他的臣仆到耶路撒冷来见犹大王希西家和所有在耶路撒冷的犹大人，说：
代下32:9 After this, Sennacherib, king of Assyria, sent his servants to Jerusalem (at that time he was stationed with all his army in front of Lachish), to say to Hezekiah and all the men of Judah in Jerusalem,
代下32:10 “亚述王西拿基立这样说：‘你们现在还在耶路撒冷受困，你们可倚靠什么呢？
代下32:10 Sennacherib, king of Assyria, says, In what are you placing your hope, waiting here in the walled town of Jerusalem?
代下32:11 希西家曾对你们说：耶和华我们的 神必拯救我们脱离亚述王的手。他不是迷惑你们，使你们因饥渴而死吗？
代下32:11 Is it not Hezekiah who has got you to do it, causing your death from need of food and water, by saying, The Lord our God will give us salvation out of the hands of the king of Assyria?
代下32:12 这希西家不是曾经把耶和华的邱坛和祭坛除去，吩咐犹大和耶路撒冷的人说：你们要在一个坛前敬拜，要在它上面烧香吗？
代下32:12 Has not this same Hezekiah taken away his high places and his altars, saying to Judah and Jerusalem, Give worship before one altar only, burning offerings on it?
代下32:13 我和我列祖向各地的民族所行的，你不知道吗？各地列国的神能拯救他们的国脱离我的手吗？
代下32:13 Have you no knowledge of what I and my fathers have done to all the peoples of every land? were the gods of the nations of those lands able to keep their land from falling into my hands?
代下32:14 我列祖消灭的那些国的众神，有哪一位能拯救自己的子民脱离我的手呢？难道你们的 神能拯救你们脱离我的手吗？
代下32:14 Who was there among all the gods of those nations, which my fathers put to destruction, who was able to keep his people safe from my hands? and is it possible that your God will keep you safe from my hands?
代下32:15 所以，你们现在不要让希西家欺骗、迷惑你们；你们也不要信他；因为无论哪一邦哪一国的神，都不能拯救自己的子民脱离我的手和我列祖的手，你们的神不是更不能拯救你们脱离我的手吗？’”
代下32:15 So do not be tricked by Hezekiah or let him get you to do this, and do not put any faith in what he says: for no god of any nation or kingdom has been able to keep his people safe from my hands, or the hands of my fathers: how much less will your God keep you safe from my hands!
代下32:16 西拿基立的臣仆还说了别的话毁谤耶和华 神和他的仆人希西家。
代下32:16 And his servants said even more against the Lord God and against his servant Hezekiah.
代下32:17 西拿基立又写信来辱骂耶和华以色列的 神，讥诮他说：“各地列国的神没有拯救它们的子民脱离我的手，希西家的神也照样不能拯救他的子民脱离我的手。”
代下32:17 And he sent letters, in addition, to put shame on the Lord, the God of Israel, and to say evil against him, saying, As the gods of the nations of other lands have not been able to keep their people safe from my hands, no more will the God of Hezekiah keep his people safe from my hands.
代下32:18 亚述王的臣仆用犹大语，向耶路撒冷城墙上的人民大声呼叫，要惊吓他们，使他们慌乱，好攻取那城。
代下32:18 These things they said, crying out with a loud voice in the Jews' language, to the people of Jerusalem who were on the wall, with the purpose of troubling them and putting fear into them, so that they might take the town;
代下32:19 他们论到耶路撒冷的 神，就好像世上万民的神一样，把他当作是人手所做的。
代下32:19 Talking of the God of Jerusalem as if he was like the gods of the peoples of the earth, the work of men's hands.
代下32:20 希西家王和亚摩斯的儿子以赛亚先知为了这事祷告，向天呼求。
代下32:20 And Hezekiah the king, and Isaiah the prophet, the son of Amoz, made prayer because of this, crying out to heaven.
代下32:21 耶和华就差派一位使者，进入亚述王的军营中，把所有英勇的战士、官长和将帅，尽都消灭了。亚述王满面羞愧返回本国去了。他进入自己的神庙的时候，他亲生的儿子在那里用刀把他杀了。
代下32:21 And the Lord sent an angel who put to death all the men of war and the chiefs and the captains in the army of the king of Assyria. So he went back to his country in shame. And when he came into the house of his god, his sons, the offspring of his body, put him to death there with the sword.
代下32:22 这样，耶和华拯救了希西家和耶路撒冷的居民，脱离了亚述王西拿基立的手，和其他仇敌的手，又使他们四境平安。
代下32:22 So the Lord gave Hezekiah and the people of Jerusalem salvation from the power of Sennacherib, the king of Assyria, and from all others, giving them rest on every side.
代下32:23 有很多人把供物带到耶路撒冷献给耶和华，又把很多宝物送给犹大王希西家；从此，希西家受到各国的尊重。
代下32:23 And great numbers came to Jerusalem with offerings for the Lord, and things of great price for Hezekiah, king of Judah: so that he was honoured among all nations from that time.
代下32:24 那时，希西家患病垂危，就祷告耶和华；耶和华应允了他，又赐他一个征兆。
代下32:24 In those days Hezekiah was ill and near death; and he made prayer to the Lord, and the Lord in answer gave him a sign.
代下32:25 希西家却没有照着他蒙受的恩惠报答耶和华；因为他心高气傲，所以耶和华的忿怒临到他，以及犹大和耶路撒冷的人身上。
代下32:25 But Hezekiah did not do as had been done to him; for his heart was lifted up in pride; and so wrath came on him and on Judah and Jerusalem.
代下32:26 但希西家因为自己心高气傲而谦卑下来，他和耶路撒冷的居民都谦卑下来，因此耶和华的忿怒，在希西家在世的日子，没有临到他们身上。
代下32:26 But then, Hezekiah, in sorrow for what he had done, put away his pride; and he and all Jerusalem made themselves low, so that the wrath of the Lord did not come on them in Hezekiah's life-time.
代下32:27 希西家的财富甚多，尊荣极大；他为自己建造库房，收藏金银、宝石、香料、盾牌和各样的珍宝；
代下32:27 And Hezekiah had very great wealth and honour; and he made himself store-houses for his gold and silver and jewels and spices, and for body-covers and all sorts of beautiful vessels.
代下32:28 又建造仓库，收藏五谷、新酒和油；又为各类牲畜盖棚栏、羊圈。
代下32:28 And store-houses for the produce of grain and wine and oil; and buildings for all sorts of beasts and flocks.
代下32:29 他又为自己建造城镇，并且拥有大批牛羊牲口，因为 神赐给他极多的财物。
代下32:29 And he made towns for himself, and got together much property in flocks and herds: for God had given him great wealth.
代下32:30 这希西家堵塞了基训泉上游的水，引水直下，流到大卫城的西边。希西家所行的一切事，尽都亨通。
代下32:30 It was Hezekiah who had the higher spring of the water of Gihon stopped, and the water taken down on the west side of the town of David. In everything he undertook, Hezekiah did well.
代下32:31 唯有巴比伦王的使者奉派来见希西家，询问犹大地发生的奇事的时候， 神就离开了他，为要试验他，好知道他心中的一切。
代下32:31 However, in the business of the representatives sent by the rulers of Babylon to get news of the wonder which had taken place in the land, God gave up guiding him, testing him to see what was in his heart.
代下32:32 希西家其余的事迹和他的善行，都记在亚摩斯的儿子以赛亚先知的异象书上，以及犹大和以色列诸王记上。
代下32:32 Now the rest of the acts of Hezekiah, and the good he did, are recorded in the vision of Isaiah the prophet, the son of Amoz, and in the book of the kings of Judah and Israel.
代下32:33 希西家和他的列祖同睡，埋葬在大卫子孙墓地的高层；他死的时候，犹大众人和耶路撒冷的居民都向他致敬。他的儿子玛拿西接续他作王。
代下32:33 So Hezekiah went to rest with his fathers, and they put his body into the higher part of the resting-places of the sons of David: and all Judah and the people of Jerusalem gave him honour at his death. And Manasseh his son became king in his place.
