    [niv] Why do you boast of evil, you mighty man? Why do you boast all day long, you who are a disgrace in the eyes of God?
    [asv] Why boastest thou thyself in mischief, O mighty man?  The lovingkindness of God endureth continually.  
    [jnd] {To the chief Musician: an instruction. Of David; when Doeg the Edomite came and told Saul, and said unto him, David came to the house of Ahimelech.} Why boastest thou thyself in evil, thou mighty man? The loving-kindness of ùGod continually.
    [kjv] Why boastest thou thyself in mischief, O mighty man? the goodness of God endureth continually.
    [nwb] To the chief Musician, Maschil, of David, when Doeg the Edomite came and told Saul, and said to him, David is come to the house of Ahimelech. Why boastest thou thyself in mischief, O mighty man? the goodness of God continually.
    [rsv] To the choirmaster. A Maskil of David, when Doeg, the Edomite, came and told Saul, "David has come to the house of Ahimelech." Why do you boast, O mighty man, of mischief done against the godly? All the day

    [ylt] To the Overseer. -- An instruction, by David, in the coming in of Doeg the Edomite, and he declareth to Saul, and saith to him, `David came in unto the house of Ahimelech.' What, boasteth thou in evil, O mighty one? The kindness of God all the day.
    [bbe] Why do you take pride in wrongdoing, lifting yourself up against the upright man all the day?

    [niv] Your tongue plots destruction; it is like a sharpened razor, you who practice deceit.
    [asv] Thy tongue deviseth very wickedness,  Like a sharp razor, working deceitfully.  
    [jnd] Thy tongue deviseth mischievous things, like a sharp razor, practising deceit.
    [kjv] The tongue deviseth mischiefs; like a sharp razor, working deceitfully.
    [nwb] Thy tongue deviseth mischiefs; like a sharp razor, working deceitfully.
    [rsv] you are plotting destruction. Your tongue is like a sharp razor, you worker of treachery.

    [niv] You love evil rather than good, falsehood rather than speaking the truth.
    [asv] Thou lovest evil more than good,  And lying rather than to speak righteousness. Selah

    [niv] Surely God will bring you down to everlasting ruin: He will snatch you up and tear you from your tent; he will uproot you from the land of the living.
    [asv] God will likewise destroy thee for ever;  He will take thee up, and pluck thee out of thy tent,  And root thee out of the land of the living. Selah  
    [jnd] ùGod shall likewise destroy thee for ever; he shall take thee away, and pluck thee out of tent, and root thee out of the land of the living. Selah.

    [niv] The righteous will see and fear; they will laugh at him, saying,

    [niv] "Here now is the man who did not make God his stronghold but trusted in his great wealth and grew strong by destroying others!"
    [asv] Lo, this is the man that made not God his strength,  But trusted in the abundance of his riches,  And strengthened himself in his wickedness.  
    [jnd] Behold the man that made not God his strength, but put confidence in the abundance of his riches, strengthened himself in his avarice.
    [kjv] Lo, this is the man that made not God his strength; but trusted in the abundance of his riches, and strengthened himself in his wickedness.
    [nwb] Lo, the man made not God his strength; but trusted in the abundance of his riches, strengthened himself in his wickedness.
    [rsv] "See the man who would not make God his refuge, but trusted in the abundance of his riches, and sought refuge in his wealth!"

    [bbe] See, this is the man who did not make God his strength, but had faith in his goods and his property, and made himself strong in his wealth.

    [niv] But I am like an olive tree flourishing in the house of God; I trust in God's unfailing love for ever and ever.
    [asv] But as for me, I am like a green olive-tree in the house of God:  I trust in the lovingkindness of God for ever and ever.  
    [jnd] But as for me, I am like a green olive-tree in the house of God: I will confide in the loving-kindness of God for ever and ever.
    [kjv] But I am like a green olive tree in the house of God: I trust in the mercy of God for ever and ever.
    [nwb] But I like a green olive tree in the house of God: I trust in the mercy of God for ever and ever.
    [rsv] But I am like a green olive tree in the house of God. I trust in the steadfast love of God for ever and ever.

    [niv] I will praise you forever for what you have done; in your name I will hope, for your name is good. I will praise you in the presence of your saints.
    [asv] I will give thee thanks for ever, because thou hast done it;  And I will hope in thy name, for it is good, in the presence of thy saints. Psalm
    [jnd] I will praise thee for ever, because thou hast done ; and I will wait on thy name, before thy godly ones, for it is good.
